Anti-Money Laundering Services

The USA PATRIOT Act’s Section 352, Title 31 of the United States Code, and other laws and regulations requires financial institutions, as well as non-bank financial institutions to establish an effective Anti-Money Laundering Program (“AML”) that will help prevent and detect money laundering and the financing of terrorism. Due to recent developments in the economy, regulators have been increasing their scrutiny and oversight in these and other areas resulting in criminal prosecutions and multi-billion dollar fines. Regulators require financial institutions to have a risk-based program to not only identify their customers, but to know their customers and their source of wealth.

Forensic Data Analytics

Our proprietary technology can help detect trends and anomalies as well as analyze potential fraud or errors. Our team has developed a data analysis methodology that uses the most cutting edge technology and incorporates the knowledge and experience of federal agents and trained investigative accountants. With this technology, we are able to process and analyze substantial amounts of financial and non-financial data quickly and effectively. The methodology can help identify anomalies and red flags that are indicative of fraud and other types of misconduct. Our technology tools have been used successfully in both proactive and reactive engagements, across a broad range of industries. Our analyses can be tailored and customized to each client to help analyze an array of information, including client specific and proprietary data.

This forensic data analysis can be used to assist law firms in litigation matters analyzing millions of records along with financial and non-financial data. In working with financial institutions DAG has helped them test their BSA/AML Rule Sets and alerting scenarios to ensure that cash transactions are properly aggregated for CTR purposes and that suspicious activity is properly identified.

Fraud Investigations

Recent studies have concluded that incidents of fraud and misconduct are rising both from an internal and external perspective. You only have to pick up a newspaper to read about a new fraud, scam or “Ponzi scheme” being discovered. In these difficult financial times, the pressures will only increase on employees, vendors and others to commit fraud and engage in misconduct. DAG has the expertise, experience and technology to help companies and law firms detect fraud, identify those involved, and remediate the problems. Everyone on the DAG management team has extensive federal law enforcement experience. Working directly for you or working closely with law firms, DAG can assist your company through the investigative process to help you get to the bottom of your problem.

Through a proactive approach, DAG has the experience to create, modify or implement your Risk Assessment and fraud controls to help you identify potential problems and vulnerabilities and establish better controls for your business. These new programs will not only help management improve effectiveness, but will also increase the confidence of your board and shareholders.

Training Services

The current regulatory environment can be confusing and sometimes mysterious. The DAG team consists of carefully chosen experts with extensive federal law enforcement experience. Our team members have a deep and broad understanding of this environment, and hands-on expertise in bank and non-bank financial institutions. The team has trained federal and state regulators, lawyers from the Department of Justice and agents from the FBI.

The DAG team will adapt its know-how to the unique needs of each client and interpret these highly complex regulations into concepts targeted to all levels of your organization from individual employees to executive management.

Litigation Support

Unfortunately, not all disagreements can be amicably resolved. In cases where financial litigation is necessary, DAG has the expertise, experience and technology to help companies and law firms through the litigation process from start to finish. DAG has extensive experience in federal and state courts in dealing with both civil and criminal matters. We have the experience to assist law firms in making the proper discovery request and then conducting detailed analysis of the financial data received. After the analysis is complete, we can assist law firms with interviews of key witnesses and prepare them for trial. If needed, DAG can be your fact or expert witness at trial. With over 30 years of financial investigative and litigation experience, we can help you through that difficult process.
